Drivers / Re:Linux Driver 3rd August 2012 (recommended)
« am: August 20, 2012, 03:06:18 Nachmittag »
I've installed the Ubuntu/Debian driver - and the software centre says it's "installed".

And yet, when I try to create a channel config for Kaffeine I get the following:

-----
output format kaffeine channels.dvb
Info: using DVB adapter auto detection.
   /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 -> DVB-C "Sundtek DVB-C": specified was DVB-T -> SEARCH NEXT ONE.
main:2960: FATAL: ***** NO USEABLE DVB CARD FOUND. *****
Please check wether dvb driver is loaded and
verify that no dvb application (i.e. vdr) is running.
-----

Any ideas?

But none of the drivers work with MediaPortal even though MediaPortal is listed as being supported. Using either of the drivers MediaPortal recognises the device as DVB-T BDA 2885 TVTuner and then fails to find the channels. I can only assume Jozie (who listed the initial post) gave up.

There are so many TV Tuners that will work out of the box - why should I persist with this?

Am having the same problem as outlined by jozie at the top. And although Jenkins said in Jan 2011 that it works with the beta drivers, the driver currently available for download (dated Dec 2011) has the same problem as outlined by jozie - scan detects no channels. So which driver should I user for MediaPortal?

Mac driver not working for me.

I tried installing all of the above and only "sundtek_driver_macosx_120319.0600" would install on my MacOS 10.5.8. This installation doesn't seem to have added anything to my 'Applications' folder, so the screenshot above which shows 'MediaTV' running on a Mac Desktop is a mystery to me as there is no way of launching MediaTV. The installer added an 'opt' folder with some libraries but no application to make use of these.

Also, there is no documentation about which version of MacOS is required for each installation - so even if I needed an upgrade to make it work, I couldn't possible know.

Am I missing something?

cheers,
Frank
