No light on DVB S2
« am: September 07, 2012, 09:03:53 Nachmittag »
Hi guys

Hi have bought a new DVB S2 and wanted to use it in conjunction with Synology ds712+ and TVheadend. From reading various posts it seems this setup is possible and Sundtek DVB S2 will work with synology OS. So i carried out the Sundtek installation instructions:,521.0.html

# cd /tmp
# wget
# chmod 777
# sudo ./

In Synology i logged on as: ssh root@IP to carry out the commands. All worked except the the last sudo command. As im logged in as root i dont think i need to run as sudo anyway?

Everything installs fine. With coax cable from dish plugged into DVB S2 and the DVBs2 plugged into the synology, there are no lights on the device, it seems like it is dead. The device does not show up in TVHeadend (TVHeaded is installed on Synology and working fine)

Does anyone see anything i have done wrong. Is the device faulty. Its brand new out of the box.

No LED on means the device is in Standby Mode
LED on means that the device is currently in use.

Just proceed using the device with some application.
Failure is a good thing! I'll fix it
