Very low signal on dreambox 800SE

<< < (2/2)

Sundtek:
Can you tell us your setup?
- Which LNB do you have?
- Do you use any Multiswitch?

I think this is something for our Lab, 40M cable.

By the way can you turn off the indicators in the sensorbar (this is a serious thing which influences the zapping speed and timeouts)? Reading the signal strength costs a lot time and might cause your problem.
The low signal strength indicator is definitely a software issue (wrong scale only) but nothing to worry about in your case.

Roygenz:
I use an "duo-lnb" from canaldigitaal (lnb with diseqcswitch build in) on astra 19.2 & 23.5. I don't have other switches.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do i turn off those indicators in the sensorbar?

Sundtek:
Another question after talking with the hardware and software engineer.

We currently do not have any delay after setting from 13 to 18V, so when tuning to early it might cause bad signal for some short time and require to retune.

So can you check a few things:

Zapping between H - H (18V transponders)
Zapping between V - V (13V transponders)
Zapping between V - H (13V - 18V transponders)
Zapping between H - V (18V - 13V transponders)

The problem in our Lab is as usual hard to reproduce without having the customers equipment, so some LNBs out there might require some driver tweaks based on the timing. We think there are 2 things that can be improved for you.
1. Sensorfield (I will get back to you later about that)
2. just adding some small delay (few milliseconds) between LNB Voltage change

Can you do those tests and leave following command running in the background:

--- Zitat ---/opt/bin/mediaclient --readsignal=0 -d /dev/dvb/adapter1/frontend0

--- Ende Zitat ---

please send the output to kontakt at sundtek de

Roygenz:
Ok, thanks!
The problem occures indeed many times when zapping from H to V position, and mostly when i watch or record a hd channel with the internal tuner.

I test this asap, thanks for your help!
