Very low signal on dreambox 800SE

Hello,

I recently installed the sundtek skytv ultimate III (DVB-S2) tuner on my dreambox 800SE (running newnigma 3.2.2). The tuner works, but i have a very low signal strength on the usb tuner (around 4%). As a result of that i get many "error reading PAT"  or "tune failed" messages. Recordings are are also failed many times.

On the internal dreambox tuner i get around 75% (13dB) signal strength. The distance between the dreambox & the dish is approx 40m. Is this distance too long for the usb tuner? Should i use an amplifier between the lnb & usb tuner?

I'm watching astra 19,2 & 23,5.

I think the signal strength which is indicated on enigma2 is the wrong one.

If you run following command on the console you get the correct one:

Can you run that command via telnet?

However we'll check the E2 entries within the next days as more customers are wondering because of the low signal strength indicator.

Are you also using the latest driver from our website?  If possible contact us via chat http://chat.sundtek.de or Skype: sundtek to check what's going on on your side (and if it's really the 40m cable)

Is is possible that enigma is tuning slow & giving the error reading PAT messages because the wrong signal reading?

The driver is up to date (i did the update yesterday)

Maybe because of slow tuning.

Can you double-check if only DVB-S2 is affected on your side?
Do you have the same issue with DVB-S?

what I notice (on DVB-S2) is that tuning in to V polarisation is going less smoothly than tune in to H polarisation. Even recordings on H are going a lot better than on V polarisation for some reason.

Tuning in to SD channels is going also a lot better than HD channels. Watching or recording HD channels with the usbtuner make the dreambox very slow (i can't zap or change the volume due the "spinner" i get on the screen)
