Sundtek Media TV Pro Linux Installation
fullcorn:
I have the DVB-C/T Media TV stick (running on Ubuntu 12.04, TVheadend 3.0) and I can't get rid of the interlacing.
I tried:
opt/bin/mediaclient -d /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0 --vfilter=on
Using device: /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0
Setting videofilter to: on
/opt/bin/mediaclient -d /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 --vfilter=on
Using device: /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0
Setting videofilter to: on
/opt/bin/mediaclient -d /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0 --vfilter=on
Using device: /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0
Setting videofilter to: on
But I still have major interlacing, but strangely not on all channels. Some are fine, others look like this:
Any idea what else I can do?
Sundtek:
--vfilter deinterlacing is only for AnalogTV, not for digital TV.
For Digital TV you must choose an application which can do deinterlacing of the MPEG Stream.
I guess you might use VLC for this, VLC should have some options in the menu for doing that.

I see. Thank you very much for the hint.
I works in xbmc, where I can adjust the deinterlace, as well as when I use a direct link to play in vlc player, but i doesn't work in the firefox plugin of vlc.
Any idea how one can set the vlc window in tvheadend to apply deinterlace?
Sundtek:
Link: VDR Portal
unfortunately in German, but maybe that one solves your problem? Just enable permanent deinterlacing.
