Hi,
I'm having some serious recording issues with VU+ Duo and two Sundtek USB tuners and I try to figure out where the exact problem is. I'm relatively new to VU+ Duo and USB tuners having recently upgraded from Dreambox 7025 with internal cable tuners and therefore I have not only of course tried a couple of different image distributions (OpenPLI and now VTi), but also installed at least two if not three different Sundtek driver versions usually using the
http://www.sundtek.com/media/sundtek_installer_development.sh script. The latest ones I'm currently using are the ones from April 4th.
Now, to the problems: the main issue is that some recordings do not recorded as a whole, they may get recorded for 10 minutes or so or just couple of seconds sometimes. This seems to be related of having multiple recordings going on at the same time.
Also, sometimes the recordings get recorded but they lose sound at some point. The sound may come back after a while or not. It seems that other recordings starting / ending in the background can at least sometimes affect this, although I have not confirmed this. Yesterday I witnessed a situation where two recordings from the same multiplex ended at the same time and the live picture (also from the same multiplex) lost sound. Service selection brought the sound back.
I did some investigation and noticed that I had an older version of the VTi image (2.4), having drivers from February, so I updated the DVB drivers from the official VU plus site to the latest ones. However, this did not at least completely solve the problem, since after that I made some test recordings, having 3 simultaneous recordings from one multiplex and two from another one and one of the recordings (a one from the multiplex that had 3 recordings at the same time) did not have the sound.
Anyway, as I said, I basically wanted to ask whether this might be a problem in Sundtek drivers or is it the VU DVB drivers that are causing this? Knowing one or two things about the DVB because of my work background, I would imagine it could be a problem of certain PIDs not getting recorded, maybe even a demux limitation of some kind, but you of course know much better which part of the recording procedure is handled by the VU drivers and which part is under the Sundtek drivers and hopefully have a clue where to start looking to get this fixed
