unsuccessful frequency scan
« am: Januar 15, 2018, 10:07:15 Nachmittag »
Hi all,
I have a Sundtek MediaTV Pro III that I'd like to use in a Raspberry Pi 3.
I've connected the usb dongle via a powered usb hub.

Following the instruction from http://support.sundtek.com/index.php/topic,4.0.html, I did:
- wget http://www.sundtek.de/media/sundtek_netinst.sh
- chmod 777 sundtek_netinst.sh
- sudo ./sundtek_netinst.sh
- sudo /opt/bin/mediaclient --installstreamer

Below you can find the output.

I tried also many other things, all unsuccessful:
- scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-legacy/dvb-t/it-All
- scan /usr/share/dvb/dvb-t/it-All
- w_scan -f t -c IT -t 3 -x -vv -F >> IT-channels

All the same: no channels detected.

What can I do? Do you have suggestion?

Regards

Mistake No. 1 - remove the USB Hub and attach the tuner directly to the RPI.

I guess your USB HUB is blocking the USB Data for some reason (we have seen that issue in the past, not all Hubs have that problem but a few).

Hi, this is what I tried before.
Actually previously I tried to scan for the channels with the dongle directly attached to the Rpi, but the results are unfortunately the same.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll remove the usb hub (the Rpi is on a remote site) and I'll let you know.

Is there a way to increase logging?

More general question:
- how does it work the Sundtek? What is the role of mediasrv and mediaclient?
- I noticed the link of the service /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/sundtek.service was broken, and I had to link by hand to /opt/doc/sundtek.service. Before it was pointing to /usr/lib/systemd/system/sundtek.service. Is that a known issue? I have a suspect the installation didn't go through fine. How can I check for that? If I I fire /opt/bin/mediaclient -e I get the following output:

**** List of Media Hardware Devices ****

* mediasrv is the driver,
* mediaclient the swiss army knife to control the tuner (usually not needed by customers though).

you can check in the chatroom for remote help
