Remote Controller in Windows 7

Any way to make the remote controller works in Windows (in fact in Windows 7 64bits), should I try with Lirc? Any way to make it work inside Windows Media Center??

There is a Windows IR Application in progress now, a rough release date should be within this month.
Currently there is no support for this available in Windows.
