CAM / CI
« am: Mai 11, 2014, 08:56:14 Nachmittag »
Hello.

I currently have a beaglebone black setup with a MediaTV Digital Home DVB-C tuner (details: http://support.sundtek.com/index.php?topic=1502.0).

It works great but I would like to know if there is a solution for decrypting encrypted channels using a CAM? Specifically for use with a Viaccess card.

Not at the moment, CAM / CI support is still open on our side; Once there are any further plans we will post it here.

As a side note CI+ will not be supported by us due requirements which cannot be met on PC based systems (CI+ basically means that the content providers are able to restrict eg. recording certain shows/movies, Opensource and in general 3rd party applications can easily bypass such a requirement)
Failure is a good thing! I'll fix it

Similarly, we have lost hope that national broadcaster will switch to HD. Apparently, they will do it without much fanfare on satellite.

I have discovered that it is possible to use certain CI bridge with any tuner. There was even now dead DVBLink CI4All Edition.

It seems there is disadvantage because every app need to support it.
