Sundtek DVB-S2 - Synology - TVHeadend
« am: Januar 08, 2014, 01:01:47 Nachmittag »
Hi All

I am having a few issues getting TV up and running. Here is my setup:

Mac Mini with XBMC
Synology DS1513+
TVheadend install on Synology
Sundtek DVBS2 USB dongle

I installed the sundtek driver:

# cd /tmp
# wget http://www.sundtek.de/media/sundtek_netinst.sh
# chmod 777 sundtek_netinst.sh
# sudo ./sundtek_netinst.sh

The install went fine and I did not take any further action in terms of setting up the device - Here is a pastebin of the install http://pastebin.com/MJR68pYj

I then went into TVHeadend and the device is seen straight away. I then did a scan for Astra 28 (I am based in SE London) and loads of services where found. I then mapped the services to channels.

When I go into XBMC to view tv, I get "Tvheadend HTSP Client No service enabled". If i check the live log in TVHeadend I get:

Media Center : Skipping "Sundtek DVB-S/S2 (III)/Astra: 10,773,000 kHz (Default (Port 0, Universal LNB))/BBC 2 England" -- Not Enabled

To rule out it being a sundtek device issue, Is there anything else i need to do in terms of setting up the device?

I took no further action on this part of the setup:

IMPORTANT: in order to use the device on your Synology NAS
           run "export LD_PRELOAD=/opt/lib/libmediaclient.so"
and afterwards start your TV Application

you can also place this in the start script of eg.
tvheadend in order to initialize it automatically

Starting driver...
Setting up autostart (/etc/rc)
Driver is already installed in /etc/rc.local

Should I have done this?

Thanks

Sundtek

You are almost there.

First of all install tvheadend (seems like you already did that).

Afterwards install the driver

Then reboot the NAS.

If the tuner is still not visible with tvheadend log into your console and run killall -9 tvheadend and restart tvheadend.

This should make it work for you

Thanks Sundtek

The adapter is definitely showing up in TVHeadend no problem. and it finds mux's and services. its just trying to display those services gives the "No service enabled" errors. If  Sundtek adapter shows up fine in TVHeadend, should I assume all is working in terms of the device/driver?

Yes, this is a configuration issue with tvheadend.

Did you try to check with the tvheadend community about the configuration issue?

Did you try to remove tvheadend completely and reinstall it?
