Wakups-from-idle per second very high with the device idle

Hello,

I have notice that when the device is idle, no application running on it, I gets about 96 wakeups per second that get passed to mediasrv. The output of powertop is:

  13.8% ( 95.9)   USB device 1-3.1 : Sundtek Medi98042982 (Sundtek)
  13.8% ( 95.9)   mediasrv

this have a high impact on the battery life and would like to know if are there any plan to improve this. I have tried both latest sundtek_installer_100506 and sundtek_installer_development.sh with the same result. Any idea?

Remote control polling, we'll put disabling the remote control onto our todolist.

If you don't need the driver just shut it down, this will put all the used components immediately into standby.

/opt/bin/mediaclient --shutdown

to start it up again

/opt/bin/mediaclient --start

this only works with the latest development drivers
