Sundtek MediaTV Pro (Europe) / How to check when the tuner is ready for operation?
« am: Dezember 20, 2010, 07:24:26 Nachmittag »
When I restart my MythTV box, it is necessary that the tuner is ready for operation before mythbackend starts up. Otherwise it is not possible to watch and record tv.

With other tuners it is possible to check for /dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0. If it exists, mythbackend is allowed to start. But with the MediaTV this folder is always present.
Even if I wait for the command "/opt/bin/mediaclient -D DVBC" to finish and then start the mythbackend, the tuner apparently still needs more time to do it's work and the automatic start of mythbackend will fail because it cannot connect to the tuner.

Is there a command line option for mediaclient that one can use to poll the readiness of the tuner?

Sundtek MediaTV Pro (Europe) / Using two tuners
« am: Dezember 20, 2010, 07:16:06 Nachmittag »
I love my Sundtek MediaTV. It works very well with MythTV and scanning for channels is easy and fast, both with DVBC and analog television.

Is it possible to use two MediaTV sticks, so one can record on one channel and watch on another at the same time? If so, how do I specify with mediaclient which stick I put in a certain mode?

For example if I want to put one stick in DVBT mode and another one on the same machine in DVBC mode. How do I specify with the mediaclient command which stick I want to put that mode into?
