Drivers / esxi 5.5 passthrough with m-pcie Media pro
« am: April 20, 2014, 09:24:51 Vormittag »
Hi,

I would like to passthrough my m-pcie tuner in ESXi 5.5
But currently this device is not available for passtrough , in ESXi 5.5.

I've also tested with an USB version of the Media Pro. This is working as expected. Passthroug works. Whenever... When using usb passtthrough , it is a bit slow. When chosing to passthrough the whole usb controller , it's a bit faster.

But when using the m-pcie tuner , I'm not able to see the tuner anyway.
I think , i have to create a custom ISO for ESXi installing (already done that for other drivers). But I don't know which driver i need.

Can someone help me ?

Kind regards,

Roel

Drivers / Switching between different modulations slow on dvb-c
« am: Mai 14, 2012, 10:34:02 Nachmittag »
Hi,

As DVB server i'm using linux with the current linux driver.
tested with both the mini-pci-express and the usb media tv pro tuner.

As client i'm using windows 7 , with the latest dvbviewer pro.
Current sundtek network driver for windows.

My cable provider is delivering two different types of transponders.
Most of the transponders are modulated witch QAM64
Some transponders are migrated to QAM256.

On DVBvieuwer switching between channels with the same modulation works fine.
But when switching between channels witch different modulations (QAM64 -> QAM256 or the other way around) is very slow.

Some more investigation on the linux DVB server learns that the DVBviewer client (or just the network plugin on windows) isn't directly tuning to the right modulation after tuning to a channel with a different modulation.

I think it has to do with the windows network client because it seems to still requests the modulation, of the previous tuned channel/transponder.
But maybe it's the dvb-c server on the linux side , which is not detecting the modulation change.

Hi,

Can we start another topic on the USB-CI module ?

For this topic , i've already the following questions:

- When will it be launched ?
- what cam modules are supported ?

Hi,

This is just what I like very much.
I already own two dockstar's. I'm testing with an other usb tuner which has a cam built-in.
But the (cam) driver support of this other tuner is not yet ready.

--
Edit by Sundtek:
removed the part which contained unwanted information
--

In other forum messages i've already read about an upcomming Sundtek CAM solution.

I hardly can't wait to see someting like that working on a dockstar !

Please let me know if there is any progress with a cam solution

Kind regards,

Roel
