With latest VU+ drivers dated 05.10.2018 for Ultimo 4K box used by Open ATV 6.2 it is impossible to use Sundtek tuners.

I just made update for OpenViX 5.2 image from version 001 to 002. Same thing happens there since ViX is also using VU+ drivers dated 05.10.2018. So at the moment if I want to use latest versions of images, it`s goodbye to Sundtek usb-tuners.

As mentioned just consult with us we can have a look. Even in the worst case that the old mechanism does not work anymore we have other ways and have been working on more generic approaches in the past.

This jam happens at the moment with all images using VU+ drivers 2018.10.05. OpenATV 6.2, PurE2, OpenViX 5.2 002. To get box working you need to delete /usr/sundtek and make new boot. Works after that without Sundtek tuners.

By the way, there is another problem with two Sundtek tuners if I have version of image where Sundteks work.
Since I`m using openmultiboot to test different images, I need to boot box when changing image. First Sundtek is normally ok, but second Sundtek is considered as FBC tuner. So every time after boot I have to go to Suntek Controlcenter and press bluebutton to make second Sundtek as T2 tuner.

Without seeing what the problem is we won't be able to provide any fix.
Rough descriptions aren't enough for seeing the detailed problem, we would need remote access (eg. anydesk) and best is to coordinate the steps via Chat.
The time you spend on writing here probably already takes longer than identifying the issue together in the chat room with remote access (You have already done that in the past as far as I remember, you should remember).

Thanks for remote access
There are several issues and also some improvements upcoming on our side
a) /proc/bus/nim_sockets expects to read everything at once, not chunked as we do it normally (we have updated the driver to fix this problem)
b) switching the tuner type in enigma2 causes a problem - it just hangs (Vu+ bug), in order to address this problem our next driver will try to switch it directly after registering the tuner (this seems to work)
c) the enigma2 configuration file switches back the tuner to DVB-C by default, but switching the tuner mode in enigma2 has a problem with that box (as mentioned in point b). The tunermode needs to be saved to the global enigma2 configuration file directly from the sundtekcontrolcenter. This will also be an improvement for our tuners.
To make your box work again it needs a driver and sundtek controlcenter update.
The driver update we will deliver today, the sundtek controlcenter update in one or two days.

The reason for questioning update is, that there are other users in Finland asking this from me in Huoltovalikko site.
I do not need Sundtek tuners next week anymore in my Ultimo 4K since then I will receive 2 pcs. of new MTSIF dualtuners from local distributer.
