This streamingserver is already integrated into the MacOSX driver
Following is the installation procedure on regular Linux systems:
sudo /opt/bin/mediaclient --installstreamer
(Please restart the system after the update)
The tuner can then be configured via the web interface
Http: // localhost: 22000
The streamingserver is compatible with :
* Most Linux based systems (eg. Debian, Ubuntu, Suse, Redhat, Fedora, ...)
*Routers (eg. AVM (Fritzbox 7490), TP-Link (using DD-WRT/OPENWRT),Netgear (DD-WRT/OPENWRT)
*NAS Systems (QNAP, Synology, XPenology,etc)
*Raspberry PI
*as mentioned MacOSX
*FreeBSD
*Windows
The streamingserver is also ported to Windows, we have already created a port successfully under Windows.
(Windows 10 as well as Windows 7 were tested so far, the switching times are about 1-2 seconds)
And streams can also be added to Kodi, XBMC.

- rewriting SDT Table in order to improve channel switching with VLC
- database will be re-initialized once the streamingserver gets updated
- added Frequency table for UPC Switzerland
- added MacOSX Hibernation support
Once the streamingserver is installed the driver will start it automatically.
Multiple clients are able to stream individual programs at the same time, multiple devices are also supported. Currently supported standards (DVB-C, DVB-T/T2, DVB-S/S2, ATSC, ISDB-T)
EPG will be parsed completely (usually up to 2 weeks in Europe, eg. for German TV Stations)

Hi,
two small questions:
1. is this streaming server also working for analog tv?
2. how to configure kodi to read tv stream from your streaming server. is there a dedicated PVR addon for the sundtek streaming server or do I need to use an exiting one (like vdr or tvheadend) and configure it properly?

Hi,
currently it only supports Digital TV.
We are adding FM Radio and DAB / DAB+ Support at the moment, afterwards possibly AnalogTV.
Digital TV can be used using kodi's IPTV Simple plugin.
The server is work in progress.

it would be nice to have the analog tv supported but I understand it's not high priority ;-)
I tried it for DVB-c channels and I had some issues:
first of all the web interface is all in german which makes it quite complex for me to make the first setup.
--> is there a way to switch to english for the web interface?
secondly, I'm located in Belgium (french speaking part of the country) and the only provider available in the predefined frequencies list is from the flemish region -IN.DI-Integan- . using this predefined set I found only 10 paytv channels for which I have no subscription, so I can't use them.
I then tried with the automatic search ("Automatischer Suchlauf" google translate helped me here) but I was not able to find other channels.
FYI, I've been able to use the sundtek stick with tvheadend for dvb-c channels, I had the same issue (no predefined channels list for my provider -VOO-) but in tvheadend I was able to create manually the dvb-c muxes (frequencies) to get freetv channels and radio channels working.

tomorrow I'll try to look for dvb-t channels.

we will add a tab with the version info to the server with the next update.
Current things we're working on:
- DAB/DAB+ Radio Streaming support (streaming support is almost done, DAB/DAB+ service information will be added lateron)
- Recording Support for DVB (adding tv recording schedules)
For the Synology NAS we'll post the answer within the next days.

we're switching the server to utf8 at the moment as well to support different character sets.

It also seems that server use wrong address(localhost) when using UPnP feature of VLC from another computer.
It would be useful if server can announce availability of channels from current mux when first VLC is streaming(second VLC will only be able to tune to channels of current mux) 8)

I'm preparing the QNAP QPKG for the Streaming Server, and it's almost done, but I have a question. The database where the playlist and/or channels are saved where is located?
I tried strace-ing rtspd but still I was unable to figure out where it is.
EDIT: It was under my eyes... /opt/bin/sundtek.db!
Can I change this PATH to something else, maybe in the QPKG folder? How? I don't like having it hardcoded, especially in /opt which may not exist on the QNAP.

the next update will introduce:
--daemon .. to run the streamingserver as a server
--dbpath .. to add a custom database path
The requested issues from the other users are updated already.
Additionally the driverpackage will support another parameter (sundtek.conf):
streamingserver=/path/to/rtspd
dbpath=/path/to/alternative.db

Hi,
I've successfully started the streaming server on a linux however it doesn't start on my router (asus ac68u). Is there any special procedure for routers?
Additionally, the web interface is in German and I can't change it to English. I already tried to change it by going to SETUP->STREAMINGSERVER->Sprachen and the choose english on the dropbox but it does nothing. Is there any other way to change it to English or ideally start the streaming server on English?

I've started the streaming server on a linux however it doesn't work correctly. I've scanned the channels and created the playlist but it doesn't play on vlc.
On the router I've no clue why the server does't start. The driver is installed however when I run /opt/bin/mediaclient --installstreamer there is no error but it doesn't start.
Can anyone help me?

Will there be support for Synology DSM 7.0, which is now in Preview state? I use Sundtek driver and DTV USB stick daily for TV.
Or will "old" driver work in DSM 7.0? Can I upgrade to DSM 7.0?

unfortuntely I was very difficult to find because it is not displayed on drivers page ! I found it in the forum after reading and translating a lot of page in german.
Can you please publish all updates on drivers page ?
And how can I change streamserver webpage from german to english.

Has anyone running DSM 7.0 Beta with the streaming server?
There are notes on the synology hompage:
"USB devices (Wi-Fi dongle, Bluetooth dongle, 3G/4G dongle, USB DAC/speaker, and DTV dongle) are no longer supported. If your Synology NAS is currently connected via a wireless dongle, it will be disconnected after the update."
Or is there no difference to the DSM 6.x?

I'm running 0.38 Sundtek driver, but was installed on 6.2 and then I upgraded to 7.0 beta. No problems with the driver.
Whats NEW with 0.41 driver which came out today? Can I update or better wait?

We only update the installer, another user installed the driver on volume3 but the installer only supported volume1 before. There was no menuentry, but there will be some more updates within the next days (for our streamingserver).

When I try to update on 7.0 beta it said: Invalid file format. Please contact the package developer.

Yes the package format is not valid for DSM 7.0 at the moment, we don't know how to fix it yet and are waiting for further information.
We will only update our NAS once DSM 7.0 is fully released (No Beta anymore).
We have tested the driver on DSM 7.0 Beta (on a customer's system - the driver works)
Are you using any other 3rd party packages with the Beta? (So we could have a look what the difference is)

Da DSM 7 seit gestern verfügbar ist, das Paket wurde für DSM 7 aktualisiert.
Nach der Installation muss man sich via SSH / Telnet auf dem NAS als "admin" einloggen und folgenden Befehl starten:
sudo /var/packages/sundtek/scripts/allowroot.sh
anschließend muss der Treiber neu gestartet werden.

Since DSM 7 is available since yesterday, the driver Package is updated for DSM7.
After the installation a shellscript has to be started:
Log in via SSH / Telnet and run:
sudo /var/packages/sundtek/scripts/allowroot.sh
and restart the driver.
