I have a dremabox DM800HD
Image: OpenPli 2.1
Kernel versie: 2.6.18
Enigma: Dec 26 2012
Last update: 2013-04-12
I have installed a sundtek USB DVB-C tuner. But there is a problemen. Once i start the tuner via the sundtek control center the DB reboots and does not boot properly.
The blue light on the sundtek turns on but the dreambox keeps looping. I see the screen turn on on the box. saying booting multimedia with a progress bar. The bar fills itself up then screen on DB turns of comes back on does the same etc.
It does this a few times then the light on the sundtek goes off and the screen on the DB as well, and my tv only shows a bootscreen of my image.
When i reboot with the usb tuner not connected the box boots properly no problems. Once i hook up the tuner and start it the problem occurs with the reboot.
Please assist me.

Is this a gray or a black USB Stick?
If the system hangs during boot up maybe your USB bus is overloaded (do you have other USB devices attached?) or your image might be corrupted I guess.
by the way we removed the other duplicate post, basically you can ask in every section here we'll either move it to the right place or answer it directly in the given section.

I have no usb devices attached the only thing i have is a internal harddrive.

Can you set a password 'temp' and run following command via telnet on your box "/opt/bin/mediaclient --portforward 23" so we can check what's going on remotely?
that command will connect to our service terminal so we're able to connect to the box.

Well i don't know if that is possible because my dreambox connects to a server. I could give my public IP and the root password (via private message) if that would be and option?

This bug has been fixed in OpenPLI some time ago

sorry for being annoying but this means the Sundtek-MediaTV-Pro-DVB-CT-Radio-AnalogTV USB device works without issues with current openpli 2.1 and kernel 2.6.18? Please confirm

The driver does not depend on the kernel version whenever the version changes the driver is not affected by this.
The device works with openpli (DVB-C and DVB-T)

DM800 HD SE is recommended, no problems with HDTV.
DM800 HD (no SE) will work with SDTV (some people even got it work with HDTV), to improve the performance an SDTV Skin should be used.

Can anyone confim that Sundtek Mediatv Pro is compatible with openpli 2.0?
I use a Azbox Minime dvb-s2.
